1. Intro and general information
1.1. What is FavSync?
FavSync allows you to personalize your own homepage, with your own favorites (or just links), search engine, shortcuts and much more advanced features. There's nothing to backup, it's all online, it has much more functionality than your browser favorites and it's all in one place – your homepage.
1.2. Personalizing your own homepage sounds complicated. What knowledge is required to be able to fully use it?
FavSync is designed for users with any level of knowledge, we're doing our best to keep it simple so everyone can enjoy. There's also step-by-step guide provided.
1.3. What are the other features FavSync has in a glance?
Click here to see the fully detailed list of features.
• Sharing and Syncing feature – share and sync a group of links easily with an unlimited number of colleagues or friends. It's an innovative way to collect good sites together!
example: collecting good cooking sites with a friend? instead of sending an e-mail or IM about a new good site you found, just add it to the shared group and within seconds your friend will see it on their FavSync page.
• Smart Links – Our links can find their own way to the right category, the moment you add them to your FavSync page! This is the end of categorizing your favorites manually.
example: if you add CNN, it will directly go the News category.
• One button plug-in - adding a link to your page with one click only.
• Direct search feature - direct search on the website itself, such as Wikipedia and YouTube or any other site, directly from your FavSync page.
• Internal Library - we selected the best sites for all categories, local and international. Add them directly to your FavSync page.
example: you just arrived to a foreign country and need the local transporation website? sure you can Google or you can use our Internal Library with all the useful links inside.
• Encrypted tab feature - You share a PC with someone else at home/work? Encrypt some of your links with a password.
• Public tab feature - You would like to show others the links you collected? create a Public Tab and send them a direct link.
• Sublinks feature - Store direct links inside a regular link, to avoid having too much links pointing to the same website.
example: http://cnn.com will lead you to the main page of CNN, while http://edition.cnn.com/BUSINESS/ will bring you directly to the page you need.
• Export and import links - Export and import links to your FavSync page from excel.
• Shortcuts (hotkeys) - Assign keyboard shortcuts to your favorites sites, to access them even faster.
